"We’ve had a good turnout at practice. I think we’ll do well at this [year’s] tournaments, we usually do," he said. "I’m pretty happy (about) our beginners practice, we’ve had a lot show up for that; more than in recent years."

While the fencing team is fighting with foils now instead of sticks, students are still enjoying learning the techniques of sword fighting.

"It’s something that is very unique," Junker said. "Fencing is something that is really unique and not very common. Being able to say, ‘I fence,’ is really cool."
