Pupils at Reckleford Infants School got the chance to try their hand at a spot of fencing and archery among other sports when a professional coach visited the school.

The Reception Class took part in a fencing session, the Year 1 pupils participated in archery and the Year 2 pupils used the school's new multi-use games area for basketball.

The day was part of their PE curriculum in an effort to use the school's sports premium, a government grant for sports and PE to help children develop their essential basic skills.

Vanessa May, headteacher, said: "Since we have had our new Multi Use Games Area installed by Sport England in 2014 we are working hard to really inspire our children's enjoyment of sport. We only have children from the ages of two to seven but this is where a life long love and interest in sport can be sparked.
